Have you ever wondered what it would be like to not have a boyfriend
who slobbers all over you like a hungry lion, and lets you take the lead? I
gots myself one o’ those guys.
We’ve only been dating for a few months now, and seriously,
I’ve had to make every move so far --- the poor dear. He’s younger than me and I’m
his first girlfriend, so I get it, but I never expected that taking the lead
would be so difficult to maintain. I somehow have to manage his ego, so he
feels like “the man”, and also manage my own feelings at the same time. So
basically, he arranges the days of the dates and pays for them, and I do
absolutely everything else.
I know what you’re probably thinking, “Wait, isn’t it the man’s job to arrange the dates and make the moves.”
On the contrary my dear reader, it has taken a month of
messaging on a dating site, twenty or so nights of talking on Skype, nine
weekly dates, and probably a hundred text messages between us to start a
relationship, and so far it seems to be working.
To this day there have been a few bouts of handholding and a
kiss or three, actually just three kisses, all instigated by me. And I don’t
mind it, he’s just nervous. Last time he
said that I made him feel on top of the world. I blush just thinking about it.
He admits that he's a shy guy, and I like that. I told him so.
This blog will be dedicated to writing about my feats and challenges while dating my shy guy.
I may not have a hungry lion, but so far it seems that sometimes lambs can be harder to tame.
